Why is live kidney donation not promoted? For those considering living kidney donation, what are the main impediments to going through with the donation? Can the process of putting themselves forward for donation be made clearer for living donors, especially when there is more than one potential donor? How many people in the general population are aware you don't have to be related to a recipient to donate a kidney? Why is the rate of living donor transplantation low in asian patients As a living donor (16 Oct 13), I found that the actual offer of one of my kidneys to my brother was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I also think that he (and his wife) found asking the family quite difficult. Why is there not a process whereby the transplant centre asks people instead of the recipient asking? If this was done, the recipient could simply provide a long list of e-mails for potential donors, who would all receive a suitable e-mail from the transplant centre, and then they could ask questions etc BEFO |
