| Explanatory note | Bacteria can be transmitted from one person to another indirectly when a person (who does not have infection) touches an article touched by a patient who has infection. Sensor-operated taps, toilet lids, doors can help in avoiding touching these and has the potential to avoid the spread of HCAI. However, there is uncertainty as to whether they might be effective. |
