Can postpartum psychosis/ childbirth in some women trigger the onset of bipolar? ~ can a baby be affected by the moods of a bipolar mother during pregnancy? ~ Regarding my medication, what do I have to do if I want to get pregnant? ~ we need more reserach on mood stabilizers during pregnancy. At the moment quetiapine is the default choice in most countries but despite all the marketing surrounding it, I dont find it that useful in clinical practice. Many women drop from treatment at pregnancy and these has consequences for both women and children. To know more about safe treatments in pregnancy would be very useful. ~ Breastfeeding and medication? ~ will I get antinatel depression? ~ Advice on coming off mood stabilisers such as sodium valproate before pregnancy. ~ My friend had to come off them in order to have a baby - what risks did the drugs have on an unborn child and what risks did she face with coming off her treatment? |
