Original uncertainty examples | Why are all patients told to fast at midnight before having surgery even though the surgery time may be quite different such at 8am or 1pm? What is the minimum amount of time to fast pre general anesthesia? ~ Is carbohydrate loading preoperatively actually of benefit for all patients, or just those having extended periods of fasting postoperatively? |
