We’re delighted to say that the James Lind Alliance was awarded joint second place in the Cochrane-REWARD prize for reducing waste in research.
The prize recognises initiatives that address at least one of the 5 identified stages of research waste (research questions relevant to users, appropriate research design, efficient conduct, accessible and full publication, unbiased and usable reports). The winners were announced during the Patients Included Cochrane Colloquium in Edinburgh, 16-18 September 2018.
First place was awarded to the EQUATOR Network and the other second place winner was the Evidence-Based Medicine DataLab for their TrialsTracker.net work. More information about all of the winners is in this news from the Cochrane Community.
Beccy Maeso, Senior Research Manager for the James Lind Alliance, said:
“We are delighted to win this award on behalf of all the JLA Priority Setting Partnerships who work hard to engage with patients, carers and health professionals to set priorities for research. By using these priorities, researchers and research funders make an important step towards reducing waste in research by answering the research questions that are most important to patients, carers and health professionals. With 70 partnerships already completed in the UK and other countries, it is exciting to see how the JLA community is growing and involving more and more voices in shaping the research agenda.”
